Bio
Gospel recording artist Aquannette Chinnery of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands is a born-again Christian singer/songwriter whose CD titled "Who Is Like Unto You?" features contemporary, traditional, and Caribbean gospel (gospel reggae and soca/calypso gospel). The CD was nominated in 2003 for Top Gospel CD International and the song "Sweet" from her CD was nominated for Top International Gospel Song of the Year at the 3rd Annual Hopeton Lewis Caribbean Gospel Music Awards.
Aquannette's ministry focus is to spread the gospel across the world in song, particularly to Caribbean people and the lovers of Caribbean gospel music genres, as well as to lovers of contemporary and traditional gospel. She continues to give glory and honor to God the Father, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
As a solo artist, she continues to minister in song at events throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands, the U.S. mainland, and the Caribbean. In April 2004, she was one of the opening acts at a concert in Gainesville, Florida featuring RiZen (2004 Stellar Awards new artist winners and 2004 Dove Award Nominees). On May 2, 2004, she sang at the Bobby Jones International Gospel Industry Retreat in Las Vegas, Nevada, which introduced her music ministry to a much larger audience, especially when the selection that she sang was featured on the TV broadcast Bobby Jones (Gospel Industry Retreat) on the WORD network, which lists in the 2nd quarter 2003 newsletter on the WORD network website that the network has at least 30 million subscribers in the U.S. alone. She was blessed to be one of the artists ministering during the same session as Dorothy Norwood. According to the Bobby Jones Gospel web site, the June 23, 2004 show on the WORD network featured Aquannette Chinnery and Dorothy Norwood. Her selection was rebroadcast on July 27, 2004 with another group of artists including Lemmie Battles, The Minneapolis Gospel Sound, and Chosen Few. Several years ago, she joined Tidalwave Gospel Band as a lead and backup vocalist and continues to sing with the band in addition to her solo music ministry.
