AQUANNETTE CHINNERY SINGS ON WORD TELEVISION NETWORK BOBBY JONES (GOSPEL INDUSTRY RETREAT) SHOW

On June 23, 2004, the WORD television network aired on its Bobby Jones (Gospel Industry Retreat) Show gospel recording artists Aquannette Chinnery and Dorothy Norwood. Chinnery sang the title cut from her gospel CD titled "Who Is Like Unto You?" which she sang to a live studio audience in Las Vegas at the taping on May 2, 2004. Chinnery said, "It was a blessing for me to share my music ministry with so many others and to be one of the artists on the same session with Dorothy Norwood. I never realized when the Lord sent me that song that I co-wrote with Loris Holland and that Loris and Mel Holder produced that I would end up singing it at an event with legendary gospel artists Albertina Walker and Dorothy Norwood sitting in the front row moving along to the music as I sang." She added that "the feedback from many of the attendees was great. Also, the WORD network lists on its website that it has at least 30 million subscribers in the U.S. alone, so the potential is great for a new artist's music ministry to be seen by a much larger audience by being invited to attend and sing at the retreat." Chinnery said, "I was blessed that Merdean Gales invited me to sing at an event when she visited the VI and then invited me to sing at the retreat and I look forward to being there again the future" Chinnery added, "It was a great opportunity to spread the gospel in song and to share my love for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with others."

AQUANNETTE CHINNERY SINGS AT GOSPEL MUSIC AWARDS GALA

Although Aquannette Chinnery, Judy Mowatt, Richie Stephens, George Banton, and other nominees in both the Top Gospel CD International and Top Gospel International Song of the Year categories for the 3rd Annual Hopeton Lewis Caribbean Gospel Music Awards did not win, Aquannette was happy to see one of her favorite Caribbean gospel groups, the Grace Thrillers, a group that has been around for more than 30 years, win in the two categories for which she was nominated.  Chinnery said, "I had a great time singing at the awards ceremony and meeting and networking with fellow nominees such as Judy Mowatt and Richie Stephens, both of whom were also guest artists at the well attended gala awards ceremony and banquet."  While in New York, Aquannette also sang at the Redeemed Christian Church of God International Chapel, with its primarily African congregation, and sang by special invitation from Hopeton Lewis at a concert at the Russell Sage First Presbyterian Church with Hopeton Lewis, Claudelle Clark, and a couple of other artists from the awards show.

She said, "As gospel artists we don't focus on it being a competition but an opportunity to do our part to serve God.  Everyone was very supportive of each other's music ministries."
